If you want to temporarily reduce the appearance of wrinkles or enhance the fullness of your lips, dermal fillers are a safe and natural non-surgical solution.
Our dentists at Karratha Smiles Dental Centre are skilled in the use of anti-wrinkle treatments to tighten sagging skin, add volume to your cheeks and lips and refresh your appearance.
Who needs dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are a fast and convenient option for those who do not want invasive cosmetic surgery.
Anti-wrinkle treatments can help to temporarily smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. They can also be used to make acne scars and other blemishes less noticeable, and help to enhance the volume of your lips.
Dermal filler treatments can sometimes be combined with other cosmetic treatments within the same visit.
What are the benefits of anti-wrinkle injections?
Compared to other cosmetic procedures, dermal fillers:
- Are non-invasive and non-surgical
- Are non-permanent, usually lasting between 6 and 12 months*
- Are made from a natural compound that is safely absorbed by your body
- Are less likely to cause an allergic reaction
- Can be completed in a single visit to the clinic.
*Temporary effects from dermal fillers will vary from patient to patient, please consult your dentist for further information.
What is the dermal fillers procedure?
When you make an appointment for dermal fillers at our Karratha clinic, we will explain what the treatment involves and answer any questions you have. Your dentist will determine the most effective areas for fillers to be injected based on your goals and may place temporary marks over these sites before applying an antibacterial cleanser.
There is usually no need for sedation for this non-invasive procedure, but local anaesthesia may be used to numb certain areas being treated. Dermal fillers are then injected into the face or lips in the desired amounts and the skin is gently massaged to prevent swelling.
Depending on the number of sites being treated, the procedure may take between 15 minutes and one hour to complete. When the treatment is complete, you will see immediate results and you will be provided with an ice pack to reduce any temporary swelling.
You can return to your normal activities straight away, but you may experience mild discomfort for the first few days following your treatment. Dermal fillers usually last up to 12 months, after which time you may choose to arrange another treatment.
